Auditors Meeting Minutes

October 6, 2014

 

Attendees:  Tom Cooch, Lin Brown, Holly Jarvis

Mr. Cooch called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m.

There were no changes to the meeting agenda.

The minutes of August 25, 2014 were reviewed and approved.

A discussion ensued regarding the status of the implementation of the NEMRC accounting software.  There remains difficulty with export functions for producing electronic spreadsheet files (similar to those from the QB software) that the auditors can work with.  The Town Treasurer is working with NEMRC personnel to address this problem.  The learning curve is long, but progress is being made.  It was decided that if we cannot get good export formats soon then the auditors will request from NEMRC a copy of the software to allow them to efficiently conduct their audits.

The audit checklists were reviewed and the following audit assignments were agreed upon for the near term:

Mr. Cooch: Bank statement reconciliation, Grand list, Accounts payable, and Cash receipts.

Mr Brown: Payroll, Town payments from the State

Ms Baumann and Mr. Brown: Taxes

Meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
