Board of Civil Authority

The Board of Civil Authority (BCA) consists of the following town officials: The Selectboard, the Justices of the Peace, and the Town Clerk. Pursuant to 17 V.S.A. Section 2451, the BCA has authority over the conduct of elections and the voter check list. The BCA is also part of the Board of Abatement (BOA), along with the Listers and the Town Treasurer. The BOA has the authority to abate town and property taxes. Meetings of the BCA and BOA are scheduled as needed, and meeting agendas will be warned in advance in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
