A high wind advisory has been posted and is in effect until Friday, 12/19 at 1pm. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph are expected. The stormy weather is forecasted to include rain and dropping temperatures, which could lead to driving hazards on Friday afternoon into the evening commute. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result. The strongest winds will occur between 5 AM and Noon on Friday. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects, especially holiday decorations. Green Mountain Power (GMP) will have external crews in Vermont and available to assist GMP crews and respond to outages as needed.
